Supported chains
mallow wallet is multi-chain. You manage all chains from a single seed phrase. You can toggle individual chains on and off in Settings → Chains.
| Chain | Status | Derivation path | Sign curve |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solana | Default, on by default | m/44'/501'/0'/0' | Ed25519 |
| Ethereum | On by default | m/44'/60'/0'/0/0 | secp256k1 |
| Tezos | Off by default; opt in via Settings | m/44'/1729'/0'/0' | Ed25519 |
What’s supported on each chain today:
- Solana — full support: balances, send/receive, NFT viewing, swaps via
Jupiter, marketplace browsing on
mallow.art. - Ethereum — balance, send/receive of ETH and ERC-20s. No swaps or NFT marketplace browsing yet.
- Tezos — balance, send/receive of XTZ and FA1.2/FA2 tokens. NFT viewing for Tezos NFTs.
Cross-chain bridging is not built into the App. If you bridge, you do so on a third-party site at your own risk.
Recovery & import
I have a seed phrase from another wallet — how do I import it?
In the App, choose Add wallet → Import recovery phrase and enter your 12 or 24 words in order. The App will derive the standard paths shown above. If your other wallet uses a non-standard derivation path, the addresses may differ; see your previous wallet’s docs to confirm.
How do I recover my wallet on a new phone?
- Install the mallow wallet from the App Store or Google Play on the new device.
- Choose Restore from recovery phrase.
- Enter your seed phrase. The App will rederive your keys and reconnect to the chains.
- Set a new PIN and enable biometrics.
Your transaction history and balances will repopulate from public chain data — there is nothing to “sync” from mallow servers because we do not hold an account for you.
What happens if my phone is lost or stolen?
If you have your seed phrase backed up, your funds are not at risk from the loss of the device alone — the wallet is encrypted at rest behind your PIN and biometrics. That said, given enough time and resources, a determined attacker with physical possession of a device is a real risk. If your phone is lost or stolen:
- Restore your wallet on a new device using your seed phrase.
- Move funds to a fresh wallet if you suspect the attacker may succeed in unlocking the lost device.
- Use your phone’s “Find my” service to remote-wipe if available.
What if I lost my seed phrase but the App still works?
The fix:
- Generate a new wallet in the App (with a fresh seed phrase).
- Back up the new seed phrase securely.
- Migrate your funds from the old wallet to the new one.
- Delete the old wallet from the App.
mallow doesn’t recognize my seed phrase. Why?
A few common reasons:
- Word order or spelling errors. Even one wrong word will derive a different wallet. Check each word against the BIP-39 wordlist.
- Different derivation path. If your other wallet uses a custom path, the same seed will produce a different address. Compare the address mallow shows with the address you expected.
- Different word count. Make sure you are entering the right number of words (12 or 24).
General FAQ
Does mallow ever see my private key or seed phrase?
No. Both are generated and stored locally on your device, encrypted using your device’s secure enclave. They never leave your device.
Does mallow take a fee on transactions?
The App itself does not currently charge fees on send, receive, or hold. You pay the network fee required by the chain (e.g., Solana priority fees, Ethereum gas). When you swap on Solana via Jupiter, the swap router may apply a small spread or platform fee — that is set by the swap provider, not by mallow.
How do swaps work?
On Solana, swap quotes are routed through Jupiter, the leading Solana DEX aggregator. The App requests a quote, you review it, and you sign and broadcast the swap transaction yourself. mallow does not custody your funds during the swap.
What does AirPlay / Cast do?
The App can stream the artwork from your NFTs to AirPlay (Apple TV) or Chromecast displays you select. The App sends the public artwork content to the device you choose; it never sends keys, balances, or private data.
Do I have to use social sign-in?
No. Social sign-in (Google or Apple) is one of two ways to create a wallet. The other is a standard seed-phrase flow. Pick the one that matches your risk preference. Social sign-in is convenient but introduces a third-party identity provider into your recovery story.
Why do I need to grant push permission?
You don’t have to. Push notifications are optional — without them, you will simply not get alerts for incoming transactions or marketplace activity. You can change your choice anytime in your device’s settings.
Why does the App ask for biometrics again to view my seed?
Exporting your seed phrase is the most sensitive operation in the App. We require biometrics specifically for export so an unlocked phone left unattended cannot leak your seed.
